About The Customer
The Challenge

This system integrator focuses on providing centralized gas pipeline monitoring systems for hospitals. The service they provide makes it possible for hospitals to reduce both maintenance and labor costs. Since hospitals may not have an existing network suitable for this type of system, GPRS communication provides an easy and ready-to-use solution for remote, distributed monitoring systems System Requirements - GPRS communication - Seamless connection with SCADA software - Simple, front-end control capability - Expandable I/O channels - Combine AI, DI, and DO channels

The Solution

Moxa's innovative cellular RTU controller solutions overcome several issues that confound traditional GPRS RTU solutions. Issue 1: The GPRS network can not communicate with devices that are behind firewalls. Moxa's Solution: Active OPC Server, which is available free of charge, can handle all remote GPRS RTU controller connections--even those located behind firewalls. Issue 2: SCADA software is unable to access GPRS RTU devices connected via private IP addresses. Moxa's Solution: Moxa's free Active OPC Server makes it easy for SCADA software to connect to remote GPRS RTU devices. Issue 3: Limited RTU options available on the GPRS RTU device Moxa's Solution: Moxa's GPRS RTU products can expand their I/O ports. Each Moxa W5300 GPRS device can be extended with up to three ioLogik E1200 I/O devices. Up to 66 I/O channels are supported. Moreover, Moxa offers GPRS RTU in a variety of different combinations. DI, DO, AI, AO, Relay, RTC, and TC are all supported. Moxa's GPRS RTU devices come with software tools in addition to the hardware. These tools help customers quickly build remote monitoring and alarm systems with Moxa's GPRS RTU solutions. Project Applied: - Free Moxa Active OPC Server - I/O expansion via ioLogik E1200 series - Click&Go control logic
